The X-i1100 boasts no fewer than six inputs, including a moving-magnet phono, unbalanced and balanced CD, a tuner, two auxiliaries and a direct "Amp ln" input.
Digital inputs are just as plentiful: one USB, one AES, and six S/PDIF, four of which are optical. The X-i1100 can power any type of passive loudspeaker, with its 220W RMS per channel at 8Ω (400W at 4Ω€!) based on a 700VA toroidal transformer and 60000uF of filtering capacity.
The DAC features two digital signal receivers: an X-Mos processor and a jitter-corrected USB3318 for the USB input, and a Cirrus Logic CS8416 for all other inputs, AES and S/PDIF. The chosen converter, a Burr Brown PCM1796, handles signals up to 192 kHz at 24 bits. Metal-coated resistors and polypropylene capacitors contribute to this integrated amplifier's reproduction quality. Mounted on large heat sinks, the amplifier boards, connected to the output terminals by 4 mm2 cross-section cables, feature a triple push-pull per channel, i.e. three pairs of NJW0281 G and NJW0302G bipolar transistors.
The X-i1100's mechanical construction has also been meticulously designed: five galvanically insulated compartments contribute to the rigidity of the X-i1100, and are integrated into the chassis. The chassis is made of steel, topped with black aluminum sides, and a perforated cover ensures optimum ventilation of the X-i1100.
